Halloween Nite

Last night we went to a ‘Fall Festival’ with Nick’s friends and their kids. I’d taken the kids to the PrestonWorld Fall Festival before, and it’s well organized, with lots to do, and it’s well spread out, but it’s all outside. We went to a different place this time at Nick’s friend’s recommendation. It was smaller, with stuff inside, and closer to home, but there were a lot of people there. They charged a $5 admission per kid, and they sold food, which was nice, because we didn’t have time to feed the chillin’s beforehand.

I think the kids had fun, but the lines were loooong. I think we stood in line at least 15-20 minutes for the bull ride, and about 10 minutes for the basketball dunk. Elle did a few other bouncy houses, and outside they did the Shark bouncy house several times. We waited in line about 10 minutes for a bungee-trampoline thingy, but it was taking forever, and it was getting late, so we left. I was a little disappointed, but I think the kids had fun, and that’s what counts. They didn’t get much candy there, but we had a few pounds from them trick-or-treating at my work last Friday, so they are by no means lacking in candy.

While downloading the photos from last night, I forgot that I’d taken a picture of what I call the “Light House”. These people decorate for every holiday. Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentines, Easter, Fourth of July…EVERYTHING. The only time lights and decorations are not on their house is when they’re in transition from one Holiday to another. They do lights, lawn ornaments, blow up-things, and they even decorate the little lions in the front of their walk. I think it’s overkill, but hey, whatever floats their boat, right?

Did you guys have tons o’fun on Halloween Nite? Do you do a Fall Festival, or are you a traditional door-to-door trick-or-treater? How do you feel about Holiday Decorating?
