I have a feeling I’m not going to do as well with these classic movies as I did with the books. But here goes…oh, and click here for Nick’s list. He’s seen more than me.

Using AFI’s list of 100 Top Movies, bold the ones you’ve seen, ital ones you’d like to see and add up to three that you think should be on the list.

1. CITIZEN KANE (1941)
2. CASABLANCA (1942) Nick just made me watch this recently. It was good.
3. THE GODFATHER (1972) I think this should be #1 on the list. I love this movie.
4. GONE WITH THE WIND (1939) Tara! Tara! Yes, I’ll go back to Tara!
5. LAWRENCE OF ARABIA (1962)
6. THE WIZARD OF OZ (1939)
7. THE GRADUATE (1967)
8. ON THE WATERFRONT (1954)
9. SCHINDLER’S LIST (1993) I saw this movie several times. It was beautiful.
10. SINGIN’ IN THE RAIN (1952) I’ve seen parts of the movie, but not the whole thing I don’t think.
11. IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE (1946) I’ve seen this movie too many times. I can’t stand it anymore.
12. SUNSET BOULEVARD (1950)
13. THE BRIDGE ON THE RIVER KWAI (1957) Nick and I have this on our DVR to watch.
14. SOME LIKE IT HOT (1959)

16. ALL ABOUT EVE (1950)
17. THE AFRICAN QUEEN (1951)

20. ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO’S NEST (1975)
21. THE GRAPES OF WRATH (1940)

As far as three movies that should be on this list…
101. The Princess Bride – I love this movie and could watch it over and over and over again. In fact I have. There is probably no movie that I have seen more than this one.
pb.jpg
102. The Shawshank Redemption – Maybe my second-most watched movie. Tim Robbins’ best movie I think.

103. The Usual Suspects – Very well written, and maybe Kevin Spacey at his best. Keyser Soze anyone?

Three movies I would remove from the list are:
58. Fantasia. Good as a soundtrack, not a movie.
75. Dances with Wolves.
84. Fargo. Not sure why this is even on the list. Good movie. Not great.

36 out of 100. I need to rent more movies… Your turn!
